MyBestPlay has interviewed AC Siena's authorities. This italian club plays in Serie A, which is one of the championships more competitive in the entire world and by the way, it takes part in MyBestPlay.
-How do you describe your work in the junior teams in AC Siena?
I think that working in this club is a proud for me because a young boy has all what he need. I mean training and learning are much more pleasant than other institutions. The club is completely professional, the kids study in the morning in our school, and train in the afternoon. On Saturday they play matches. Trainers have work schedules and they’re always willing to advise and help the football player.
Where do the players come from?
-The Siena has always had an open door policy, so we receive athletes from a lot of places around the world. Obviously, most come from Italy, and many European countries as Russia and Turkey. South America also have plenty of junior players with future growing expectations. They share the same desire to succeed day by day and I think that the cultural exchange is great for their learning.
What sort of attention will the foreign players receive?
-Once you’re chosen, you will be given a Siena scholarship and a full pension from the club in order to make you fell well and to avoid the homesick, since we’re dealing with little boys. It's hard to leave the family far away, besides the fact you have to live in a country where you unable to speak your language. So, we’re organ Italian lessons.
Where is the training camp located and what facilities do you provide?
-It’s located on the outside of the city. There are several soccer fields with different surfaces, teenagers train in a grass field, and the older (Category "Spring" from 17 to 20 years) do so in a stadium where tournament matches are played. These young people will stay in a hotel near the stadium where they enjoy breakfast and dinner together.
What are the benefits of being part of AC Siena?
-First you have to know that we’re talking about a prestigious club, with a long history in Serie A, and besides Siena is such a great city, both in a culture and architecture way, located between the cities of Florence, and Rome . It’s a worthwhile city for children to learn to play football in high competition.
